Devil in a Blue Dress fell under the radar upon its release in 1995. A shame as it’s a brilliant film. A compelling mystery explored in the noir genre with exceptional craftsmanship, sumptuous production design, a simmering plot, and terrific performances, particularly from Denzel Washington as the everyman in over his head, and Don Cheadle, his wickedly good friend who is magnificently unpredictable. Criterion brings the film to the home market again, this time as a 4K premiere and accompanying Blu-ray, and it’s a winner all the way.

Very nice review, Neil! I agree. This is a great film that never really got the attention it deserved. Don Cheadle is perhaps one of the most under rated actors working today. Can't wait to grab this one.
