help needed seting up Yamaha RX-V2700 (1 Viewer)

hi Guys..

I have an HD DVD A3 and just bought a Yamaha RX-V2700,
the speaker Tv every thing is stet..
But i am un sure what is the best way to set sound from my A# to the AVR.
i am using an HDMI cable b/t them.


i ask becasue i left every thing an default on A3 and AVR

Please note the the installer set up my Speakers and avr thing like gain on apakera distance wiring etc..


But when i put in my transformer HD DVD the sound was just O.k



i need to know what setting to set on my A3 and my AVR..

Please help..

also which would better for me

to pass sound to my AVR
should i use HDMI or Bitstream/PCM using optical digital Cable
