Since Studio canal supplies Lionsgate with most of its library-I'm assuming the following may be put out by LG on dvd. Surprisingly-very few were never on video. Avco/Embassy: MONIQUE , MACHO CALLAHAN, THE PEOPLE NEXT DOOR , ROAD TO SALINA , BABY LOVE , THE SPORTING CLUB , MAN WHO HAD POWER OVER WOMEN , PROMISE AT DAWN , THE HERO , THE STEAGLE , THE SKI BUM , ROBINSON CRUSOE , SECRET RITES , HOT PANTS HOLIDAY , J.C. , MANIAC MANSION , ARRUZA , THE OLDEST PROFESSION , WHAT THE PEEPER SAW , THUMB TRIPPING , WHAT? , ALL THE WY BOYS , JORY , INTERVAL , BOOK OF NUMBERS , LUCKY LUCIANO , THE DRIVERS SEAT , HURRY UP OR ILL BE 30 , THE TAMARIND SEED , JURY OF ONE , JOCK PETERESEN , TEN LITTLE INDIANS , THE PHOTOGRAPHER , CALL HIM MR SHATTER , PAPER TIGER , RUSSIAN ROULETTE , MR. QUILP , FOUR DEUCES , LOVES AND TIMES OF SCARAMOUCHE , SHOOT , DEADLY HERO , BITTERSWEET LOVE , SCALPEL , PIPE DREAMS , SIDEWINDER ONE , CHICKEN CHRONICLES , RABBIT TEST , A DREAM OF PASSION , BORN AGAIN , THE BELL JAR , OLD BOYFRIENDS , GOLDENGIRL , FISH HAWK , DEATH SHIP , THE BALTIMORE BULLET , CITY ON FIRE , HOG WILD , NIGHT GAMES , DIRTY TRICKS , TULIPS , MELANIE Quite a few good ones here. I'd like to see ROAD TO SALINA get a decent relewase. GOLDENGIRL was vastly underrated and needs to be rediscovered as a modern Frankenstein story. ITC: MADAME SIN , BAFFLED , 92 IN THE SHADE , THE MEDUSA TOUCH , BLOOF FEUD , LOVE AND BULLETS , ESCAPE TO ATHENA , FIREPOWER , KILLER FISH , BLOODY KIDS , GREAT BANK ROBBERY , BORDERLINE , THE LONDON CONSPIRACY , DARK WATER , FROM THE LIFE OF THE MARIONETTES , GREEN ICE , ROBBERY UNDER ARMS , THE FANTASIST , STATE PARK , THE LAST WARRIOR , EMI: ALL THE WAY UP , CRY OF THE PENGUINS , FAMILY LIFE , SEVEN NIGHTS IN JAPAN , ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL , SILVER BEARS , WARLORDS OF ATLANTIS , SOMEBODY KILLED HER HUSBAND , ARABIAN ADVENTURE , SECOND THOUGHTS , RESTLESS NATIVES , MAN ON TOP , MISTRESS PAMELA , STARDUST , FEAR IS THE KEY , HENRY VIII AND HIS SIX WIVES , NEAREST AND DEAREST , VILLAIN , UP POMPEII , ITS NOT THE SIZE THAT COUNTS , THE CHASTITY BELT

CALL HIM MR. SHATTER is on DVD. Some of these, like THE DRIVER'S SEAT, slipped onto dubious budget labels. There's a very good, region-free BD of ESCAPE TO ATHENA available from Amazon UK.

Do or don't, not my business, but a good presentation is out there at a reasonable price. Don't know when it'll hit DVD here.

FIREPOWER was the first release of AFD in May 1979, followed by ESCAPE TO ATHENA in June and LOVE AND BULLETS in August. All three bombed in the u.s. , which, unlike Europe and the rest of the world, never welcomed international thrillers other than Bond. In fact, the only AFD hit that year was THE MUPPET MOVIE. Ahhh!, the wheel turns! ESCAPE TO ATHENA is a very entetaining, beautifully shot comic thriller that deserves a release here. Almost all the AFD releases have had DVD EXPOSURE ELSEWHERE-and some very nice ones at that.

I don't even recall LOVE AND BULLETS getting a theatrical elease, at least in the NY area, and going straight to cable instead a year later.

September 1979 was the dumping ground in Manhattan for many movies that had already played around the country or for independents. LOVE AND BULLETS played the second week in September at the Rivoli for 1 week in a month that also included PATRICK, SHAME OF THE JUNGLE , THE BROOD, GOLIATHON, MR. MIKES MONDO VIDEO, NEST OF VIPERS, MARTIN,THE STUD , RAPE OF LOVE and CITY ON FIRE-some of which were never heard from again

You missed MAN FRIDAY, VOYAGE OF THE DAMNED, and THE DOMINO PRINCIPLE, all ITC films released theatrically by Avco Embassy.

They, like THE TAMARIND SEED, reside with the other ITC titles. (Avco Embassy didn't have any video rights to any of the ITC films they distributed.)

I think BOOK OF NUMBERS is at Warner with the other Brut titles.
