Okay, I need something that would seem to be quite simple. A BD player that has 1. Wifi and 2. Netflix and 3. OPTICAL audio output.

It has to have all three. And right now i cannot find ANY that do! WTH is going on here?

What am i missing here? It's a long story, but it HAS to have Optical. No way around it. HAD TO. Non-negotiable.

And it also has to have Wifi and Netfix access.

I have an LG BD670 that has all of these things. I bought it in 2012 so not sure if it's still in production.

I was surprised the Sony's dropped the optical also.

Well, if you don't mind spending money you have the Yamaha BD-A1040 and of course Oppo.

It has to cost less than $100. it's for my folks. But it looks like there is no option and I am going to have to drive five hours to their place to hook up a new BD player. Oh brother.

I'd pay the extra $18 and get the Panny vs driving 5 hours! [emoji6]

You'd figure the extra $18 would be less than the gas mileage and wear and tear on the car, not to mention time!

Analog Sunset

Since then, bargain basement players have been HDMI only. With only models with "lots" of music options still offering a separate audio output(mostly coax, not Tos).

So...wanting what you want and only paying $100...

Is not happening.

Well it is happening. I found an open box Panasonic DMP BDT230 for less than $40 shipped. It will do everything the folks need so I am happy to have found a solution. 90 day warranty too.
