Did I miss something or did they say nothing specific about battery life on the watch? Also, if those fitness functions require a iPhone to be carried as well they are a non-starter in my book (I never carry a phone while exercising).

Nothing said about battery life. Not necessarily a good thing.

The watch is not stand alone. Needs to be paired to the phone to work. Seems a bit of a waste. If I already have my phone within reach, why do I need to look at this tiny screen to do things? I rather just use the "big" screen on the phone.

If batery life was excellent, odds are they would have touted that. I bet with all the apps runnin on it, you're lucky to get a couple hours at most out of it.

I did not see anything. Was there any mention of non-contract pricing of the phones?. Verizon service in my neighborhood is so bad that ALL of my calls are dropped and half of my texts don't arrive. So I may need to switch carriers RSN.
