The lyric from "I Hate People" has always been published quite wrong, you know. It was supposed to be:

"When I see the indolent classes
Sitting on their insolent arses
Gulping ale from infinite glasses..."

I don't know why it's always published as "Indolent" three times. Maybe Albert Finney couldn't say it right or maybe somebody else made a boo-boo, but there you are.

Since Osato mentioned buying the soundtrack album, about late 2019-early 2020, recording engineer Mike Matessino mentioned that he and Leslie Bricusse were making plans to look into doing a remastered, possibly expanded, edition of the soundtrack. Unfortunately, Covid put those plans on hold. Hopefully, they can get those plans up and running again soon so that a CD of this score can be released, even if it’s only a reissue of the soundtrack album. Here’s Mr. Matessino’s exact quote from when he first mentioned looking into Scrooge:

When Mr. Bricusse gets to L.A. in December we're going to see what we can do about Scrooge. I have a feeling that scoring masters are gone, but hopefully we can at least get the soundtrack album out. I also have some demos from Ian Fraser.

The LP does have wonderful stereo. The orchestra in the Overture sounds magnificent, and the chorus blend in "A Christmas Carol" sends chills up my spine. Brings back vivid memories of seeing the movie at Radio City Music Hall.

Is paramount aware that the overture was cut from the Blu-ray??

It’s such an odd thing. Was it ever addressed by the studio on one it was cut?

I’m watching High Society and this film retains its overture….
