Rosalie gave birth to five babies on October 12, 2021. The babies don't have their adult fur pattern yet, but when I tuned in earlier today, some of them were toddling around. In the wild, Rosalie would be lucky if even half of her cubs survived to become adults. Here the most "dangerous" visitors are opossums.

The Smithsonian seems to be doing a good job at breeding these threatened cats. "Not counting Rosalie's new cubs, 26 cheetahs live on the … [SCBI facilities in Virginia] … Fifteen litters totaling 63 cubs have been born at SCBI since 2010."
