One question I had, was on the Vista Series Director's Cut, what was the point of the scene with Doc Hollilday reciting poetry as Morgan died? the other additions all make sense and flesh things out, but htat scene I could never figure out.

Maybe he was just having one of those drunken sentimental moments. That scene kind of threw me off too but I didn't mind it. But the other additional scenes added so much more to the movie. I will never watch the original ever again.

Count me in as one who had never seen Tombstone until last week. I loved it and have watched it twice. And it's almost ready to go again. Val Kilmer's performance was as good as it gets, and added levity at every turn. Levity and menace, yeah, that's it...
It's THE western for people that don't normally like westerns.

chris, i forget the dialog there but i think the point of the poem scene was to show where doc was during the ambush and why he didn't help. someone else could probably elaborate on the meaning of his words.

Cowboys and Outlaws

The Real Wyatt Earp

The fabled Wyatt Earp, credited with spreading law and order in the Wild West, was in reality a complex character who straddled both sides of the law. Throughout most of his career he rarely used a pistol to kill a man, but when his little brother is shot, he snaps and embarks on a bloody vendetta. This action seals his place in history... but obscures the real man behind the myth.

I would very much like to see a 4K restoration done to Tombstone and would love to upgrade my current version of this movie to a 4K transfer.

Doc: “A man like Ringo has got a great big hole, right in the middle of him. He can never kill enough, or steal enough, or inflict enough pain to ever fill it.”
Wyatt: “What does he need?”
Doc: “Revenge.”
Wyatt: “For what?”
Doc: “Bein’ born.”

Johnny Ringo: "My fight's not with you, Holliday "
Doc Holliday: " I beg to differ, sir, We Started a game we never got to finish. Play for blood remember. "
Johnny Ringo: " Oh that, I was just foolin. "
Doc Holliday: " I wasn't. "
