Hey RoundUppers!

A few new releases which I bet, some of you have been waiting for. And some more Pixar on 4k/UHD.

Hope there's something there for you! :D

Thank you, Mike!

Nothing for me this week.

I really loved Queen & Slim. It is sensational. But it's also really tough to watch at times, and last week was very expensive for me what with getting two steelbooks. So I'm going to wait for Q&S to come down lower then the $22.99 price point. I would highly encourage a rental for anyone interested who missed it in theaters, though.

Dark Waters is very much worth a watch, but I would recommend it more as a rental than a purchase. I wouldn't replay it very often.

I also don't feel the need to get any of those Pixar 4K titles right now because I am not 4K equipped, and the included Blu-rays are identical to the versions I already have. But if I were to go 4K at some point, those are absolutely titles I would consider for an upgrade at that time.

There is a title in the RoundUp that I'm slated to review, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Thanks for the prices!

After seeing all those Pixar/Marvel/Disney 4k steelbooks go on sale and be included in a buy 2 get a 3rd free at Best Buy this past December I'll be holding off on this round.

My assumption is that the last round of steelbooks didn't sell as well as Disney and/or Best Buy had anticipated and the recent sales were an attempt to get rid of stock. I don't know how successful it was though.

Even though Frozen was marked down to $14.99 for a week at the beginning of the month, and then to $9.99 for a day a couple weeks later, there were still three copies of it sitting on the shelf at my Best Buy this week when I went in to get the sequel. There were none of the sequel that hadn't already been reserved (mine was), but the first one still had leftovers and is now being priced at $34.99 again. It almost makes me wonder if they will print less copies of the steelbooks this time than they did last time. That would be what I would lean from this if I were Disney.

Of course, I would also street reissues of catalog titles at a lower price point than $29.99/$34.99 steel, especially considering that all of these are on Disney+ for a fraction of the cost. But what do I know?

Frankly I think those catalog steel books from Disney are priced too high in today’s marketplace with Disney+ a viable and cheaper option for many people.

Exactly. I don't think the steelbooks are inherently not going to sell because of Disney+. But I do think if Disney wants to sell them in this environment, they need to be more competitively priced, especially because these are the umpteenth re-release of these films.

That being said...I did just do a pre-order the new steelbook release of the original animated Beauty and the Beast for next week. I'm a sucker for certain titles and that is one of them.
