I hate to be the bearer of bad news, as I agree with your assessment of the film. However, I would not count on Part Two keeping its current release date. They shot Part One and portions of Part Two simultaneously, but haven't finished Part Two yet. There is additional filming for it that needs to be done. This was originally intended to take place as soon as they finished the press tour for this film. However, the SAG-AFTRA strike has prevented that from happening as scheduled. The strike began the week Part One opened.I'm glad we waited until digital release, now it's only 8 months until Part Two rather than 11 months.
If they continue the release strategy they used for this one, Paramount will release Part 2 a week before the next Avatar movie.
OP2: Even Oppenheimier! Part OneNah - it'll come out the week before "Oppenheimer 2: Even Oppenheimier"!

We called it @Tino.Yah. It’ll definitely be delayed.
Variety said:Paramount Pictures has delayed the next “Mission: Impossible” by an entire year, from its original date of June 28, 2024 to its new spot on May 23, 2025. Like other films of its size and scale, the eighth “Mission” movie was forced to halt production amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and won’t be completed in time to open next summer. It’s a fate that faces many big-budget tentpoles if the actors union and studios don’t resolve their contract negotiations in the coming weeks.
Variety said:“Mission: Impossible” will arrive on the big screen with a new name. Paramount and Skydance are dropping the second half of its title, formerly “Dead Reckoning Part Two,” though the sequel will directly follow the events of 2023’s “Dead Reckoning Part One.”
"Mission: Impossible 8 will get a three-week run in Imax and will be filmed with Imax digital cameras for the Imax format. Do you hear that loud and clear, Christopher Nolan and Universal?"
Some of the IMAX digital cameras are capable of 1.43:1 - the production simply has to utilize that capability if they so choose.
Good to know - I was unaware!
Is that what "Dune" used?
I bet they will.I wonder if they'll replace the current master on iTunes with the one omitting "Part One."

But have they kept track of all the people who've bought a physical disc copy, so that they can sneak into our houses and swap them out for a new, altered disc?
