Have any members downloaded Remote Selector recently, or is there something newer/better?

Yes, that is part of it.

I had trouble with the download, from a computer @ home and a computer @ work.

I've since downloaded "5kplayer", successfully, though I have not installed it yet, and I may also try to download "dvd43".

Do you have any other suggestions or recommendations?

The standard tool for this is Redfox, formerly AnyDVD: https://www.redfox.bz/en/anydvdhd.html

It costs money, but works very well.

In case any other members would benefit, I work with contractors who buy bulk assemblies (cables and wires) from a business called Beach Wire and Cable, in Huntington Beach (California).

However, Beach Wire and Cable also will deal directly with the public, so I was able to buy a 50-foot HDMI cable (already assembled) for $38.00 (available for pickup immediately; no waiting).

One of the contractors with whom I work told me the cable I bought does not have a "brand name", but is otherwise just as good as any "brand name" cable.

So, I was able to connect my computer to my TV, without having to relocate either device.
