Sorry, I thought that you wanted films that I wished to receive the “Warner Archive” treatment…???

UP IN ARMS, at least, now does belong to Warner Bros. from what I understand, as the company has recently absorbed the Samuel Goldwyn catalog. I don't know about the other titles.

Though originally released by RKO, "Song of The South" of course, is owned by Disney and so would never be a Warner Archive release even if Disney decided to make it available for a blu ray disc.
With all of these mondo acquisitions going on between studios and thier mother corporations, it is getting to the point where you gotta ask...do that all really know what properties they own or is the ho
stressed everything is fine GIF
use on fire?

I'd love to have a Blu-ray disc of The Man I Love with the usual Warner Archive quality. Unfortunately I think that's unlikely because the DVD-R indicates the elements are in very poor condition.

For Blu-ray release, here are a few Warner 40s films I would love to have.
ALL THIS AND HEAVEN TOO
ONE FOOT IN HEAVEN
ADVENTURES OF MARK TWAIN
SILVER RIVER (just to get rid of that MOD version that have low sound bumps throughout the entire film.)
ROUGHLY SPEAKING (underrated film)
BY THE LIGHT OF THE SILVERY MOON (sequel to the already released ON MOONLIGHT BAY)
IT'S A GREAT FEELING
and a couple of dozen more......

MGM kicked off its record division in 1946 with the soundtrack (on 78 rpm) of "Till the Clouds Roll By" (MGM-1). And though they released a variety of items, the label - like the studio - was probably most famous in those days for its movie musicals. And - yes - "The Unfinished Dance"(MGM-4) was indeed their second soundtrack release, followed by "Good News"(MGM-17), "The Pirate"(MGM-21) and "Big City"(MGM-23), another Margaret O'Brien vehicle. "Till the Clouds Roll By", "Good News" and "The Pirate" eventually found their way to LP. But I think the two Margaret O'Brien titles only ever existed on 78.
The Unfinished Dance did make its way to a 10" LP release in the early 50s. Years ago I took it out from our local library and made a cassette tape recording of it. I had a Fisher stereo with a turntable, cassette and 8-track player with recording capabilities. It was used a lot.

BTW, Ken, I hope you have the time this year to finish up your thoughts on the 40s films for possible release by WAC. I believe you left off with Tarzan and the Mermaids (1948).

When I first started this thread my intention had been to proceed from 1940 right to 1949, covering the whole decade. Almost managed it but somehow I just ran out of steam while doing 1948 - and never did recover my mojo. But just as a closer - and to include the final year of the forties, here's a blogpost I made many years ago spotlighting a movie that I still hope pops up as a future Warner Archive Blu. I've always thought it was a humdinger.

For some reason, couldn't get the link to work. So if you're so inclined just Google Bette Beyond Canadianken
