Synapse Films is releasing Popcorn, the 1991 cult classic, in a steelbook Blu-ray/DVD combo release. It's on the pricier side but Synapse does excellent work and the movie is fun so I'll be splurging.

Imagine alot of people who know it remember it from seeing it on cable in the early 1990's (that's where I saw it anyway) but it definitely has a small yet devoted fanbase among horror fans.

I'm going for it. I have some paypal money from selling some other discs so ordered it through Diabolik with some other non-Canadian stuff.

Many people claim to never have heard of the film but it does have a small cult following, as mentioned above. Apparently an even smaller percentage of those fans plan to actually buy this release because of the higher-than-usual price point and choice of packaging. Frankly I don't see what all the fuss is about. All you have to do is give up a weekend of boozing and partying and that should cover it
