LAS VEGAS, January 4, 2017 - Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) today announced that Sony’s newly announced premium 4K HDR TV line will feature Dolby Vision high-dynamic-range (HDR) technology. Sony’s new HDR TV line will give its global customers access to spectacular HDR experiences in the home with Dolby Vision.

Leveraging the HDR innovation that powers Dolby’s most advanced cinemas around the world, Dolby Vision transforms the TV experience in the home by delivering greater brightness and contrast, as well as a fuller palette of rich colors. Dolby’s deep expertise in bringing advanced technologies from the cinema to the home has led to distinct features that enable Dolby Vision to deliver extraordinary viewing experiences to home consumers. Dolby today delivers spectacular experiences in broadcast, gaming, music, and other genres, and this expertise serves as the foundation that will enable Dolby Vision to drive the future of entertainment tomorrow.

“Our collaboration with Sony marks another significant milestone for Dolby Vision,” said Giles Baker, Senior Vice President, Consumer Entertainment Group, Dolby Laboratories. ”Now consumers can experience next-generation imaging on Sony TVs worldwide, and have access to a vibrant selection of premium cinematic and episodic content.”

Just not happy with the stand and their decision to make it not stand up straight. Makes zero sense. I dont want a picture frame, I want a flat panel oled.

Reports out of Europe seem like this SOny 65" is going to be cheaper than expected, some preorders are 3000 euros. Id be shocked if it was, but if they launch at $4k or less, Ill buy one over an LG in a heartbeat.

I highly doubt this TV is a "piece of crap" 3D at home is dead folks, the money wasn't there and manufacturers are here to make money, not toss it out on flash in the pan gimmicks like 3D. If it was as popular as many hoped/wished/still think, you'd see 3D TV's all over the place. They aren't, TV makers aren't idiots, they go where the $$$$ is. Not go after niche markets.
