I've heard Quentin talk about a lot of pictures, Star Wars is not one I have heard him mention. Probably he feels you don't need to talk about Star Wars due to the mega blockbuster status of the film. Have you ever heard him mention it, and if so what were his comments on it? It seems like a picture he would like.

Maybe the plot of this new picture is a movie critic gets so furious with George Lucas because Star Wars destroyed anybody going to see Friedkin's Sorcerer, that she goes and kills him with a flamethrower.

Back when they announced that they were making new Star Wars movies, a reporter asked him if he wanted to make one and he said how that was not something that he was interested in at all. This is 100% my guess but for a guy who has spent decades talking about other people's movies to not be regularly 'worshipping' at the altar of Star Wars, I tend to think it's just not as important to him as it is to many other people around his age.

Personally, I love QT and I love Star Wars but I'm VERY happy for them to remain very separate.

I wonder what the plot’s going to be. Will it be the critic having a feud/battle of wits with a couple of filmmakers? How much of it will be total fiction, and how much will be at least loosely based on real films/incidents? Can’t wait.

I remember him saying (on the Spaced commentary with Edgar Wright) that he was told that 'Revenge of the Sith' was a decent film by Edgar's account. And he saw the film on his recommendation. He hated it and was angry at Edgar for liking it/recommending it (who also walked back his praise for the film).
Tarantino also said he didn't see the first two prequel movies which I thought odd, but to each his own.

He loves Star Trek though!

It actually appears according to the conversation that the critic it is based on is Jim Sheldon who was a friend of William Marigold. I guess Sheldon died in his 30s but Marigold (obvious in the photo of him) lived a lot longer than that.

Seems to me that Quentin will try to get roles for a lot of actors for his final film that he has worked with. My prediction is he’ll have the last spoken line of dialog (he had the first spoken line of dialog in his first film- a full circle thing).
