I've got a print being delivered today for approval. I'll inspect it this afternoon and have a look at it tonight. A very RARE IB Technicolor print of "Meet Me In St. Louis." Hoping it doesn't have any major issues. I would love to keep it for my collection but we'll see.
Well it did run through the projector but that's about it.
The print smells like vinegar, will not hold focus and curls almost 180 degrees as it comes off the reel.
To the trash can tomorrow.
I finally found and purchased a beautiful print of Jurassic Park III. Now I have the first 3 in the Franchise. No other JP release was printed on 35mm.
Getting excited about my purchase of Jurassic Park III. Full digital tracks, Dolby Digital. DTS and SDDS. Like JP 1 & 2 AR is 1:85:1 Should be here by the weekend.
Tonight we're screening our newly acquired 35mm print of Jurassic Park 3. Hope it's as minty as the seller stated.
AR 1:37:1 but released to theatres at 1:85:1. Dolby digital,
DTS and SDDS. I usually favor SDDS backed up by DTS.
Jurassic Park 3 was worth every dollar I paid for it. The track rivals the best prints in my collection. I know #3 is not every body's favorite but I think it's better than Lost
World. So for me it's Jurassic Park #1. Jurassic Park III #2 and Lost World is #3. All the rest are digital and on Blu Ray.
Watched Dial M For Murder last night. That's one movie I never get tired of watching. Great 3D with no jumping off the screen shots. The most subtle use of 3D of any movie we have.
My old silver screen when we first moved to SoCal. Replaced with a larger matte white screen. Boy was I glad to get rid of that nasty silver screen. 3D film looks better on the white screen!
All week we've been dragging out cobweb classics in 35mm only. Tonight is THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, IB Technicolor, 1:85:1, mono. Haven't watched this one in several years!!
Moving on into the Halloween season, running one tonight to sorta set the mood. 35mm HALLOWEEN H20, SDDS, DTS and Dolby Digital....take your pick! 2:35:1
58 days 'til Halloween.
A big change from Halloween H20 tonight is a Glen Ford and Frank Lovejoy western......THE AMERICANO 1955, beautiful Technicolor, 35mm, 1:33:1, mono. Directed by William Castle!!
