Don:

I've been through long term recoveries (including use of a walker). The key is to get in tune with your body. Don't overdo...but continue to push yourself to do a little more each day. Setbacks are demoralizing...and the time will pass that much more quickly without them. All the best!

I found this picture of our Atlanta booth before switching to a Kinoton projector. Here are the specs before the move to California.
Century 35mm/70mm JJ projector, Century R3 soundhead with reverse scan red reader, 4-track Magnetic stereo sound head, Dolby Cat. 701 SRD digital reader, Strong Super LumeX 2,000 watt xenon lamphouse, Epson 1080P digital LCD projector (on top shelf), Dolby 689 Remote Fader (format switch and volume control) on front wall.

If you want a movie that will make you jump out of your seat, watch SMILE. Available on Paramount Plus.

Headed back to Plano Tx in March for another 3 day screening of 35mm and 70mm films in the home theatre of a dear friend. This picture is not of a commercial theatre but a home theatre. Movies in this screening room rival any commercial theatre in the country. There's a DLP projector in the booth but ONLY film is shown for this gathering.

Picked up a very rare 3D short (23 minutes) called
SEA DREAM. This short was filmed at Marine Land in Florida (closed now). This was shown to people attending Marine Land before they toured the facility. The film has a 4 track magnetic sound track which makes it even more rare. It's an enjoyable piece to watch with great 3D photography.

Received my new Panavision 3D lens from Uruguay today. After initial screen test it's hands down sharper and much brighter than my current lens. Nothing is more important with 3D than the brightest picture you can put on the screen. At this point I'll be changing from the Dolby filtered lens to the Panavision lens. I spent a lot of time and money putting together the Dolby lens that I currently use but the difference is amazing so Panavision it is!!

So this would be from the series Panavision produced in the mid to late 00s, right?

This is when Technicolor and Panavision were competing for the 3D film business. Panavision backed out giving it all to Technicolor 3D. Technicolor required a silver screen and Panavision worked on a white screen. This was happening in around 2010.

Tonight is the final test of the Panivision vs Dolby battle. I feel like Panivision will be the winner but need at least an hour and a half to check for any eye strain.
We're running Shrek...Forever After in 3D to settle the question.

Shrek is a great animated movie and I've never seen any better 3D. I would say it rivals digital 3D. I'll sell my Dolby lens and use the Panavision. Think I'll screen an live action title tomorrow night.....maybe Drive Angry. It was filmed in 3D. Should look great!!
