I guess I will have to own all three now. Worth it, the film is as socially relevant now then it was in 1947.

It's great that these Olive releases are getting the KL treatment and gives us another opportunity to pick up any titles we missed first time round. I hope The Grass is Greener is also in the pipeline.
There are plenty of things to like about the John Garfield film "Body and Soul". And one of them is definitely the sizzling presence of Hazel Brooks, surely a vamp among vamps. She started as a kind of background showgirl in MGM musicals - something that required at very least a substantial amount of beauty (which Brooks had in spades). Although MGM failed to come up with any real roles for her, she did (at age 19) marry the studio's head art director, Cedric Gibbons - and remained with him, living in palatial surroundings, till his death in 1960.
Away from MGM in the late 40's Brooks did get a couple of fine onscreen opportunities - the first of which had her performing temptress duties in "Body and Soul". The picture was a hit - and one of the things people were talking about was definitely Hazel Brooks' powerful allure. Next up came a would be thriller with Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche called "Sleep, My Love". Though handsomely produced in solid noir fashion, the picture never quite catches fire. Except for the scenes involving Hazel Brooks, once again a siren, (I think she's called Daphne in this one). And she's something to behold - with a languid vibe - part Catwoman, part Morticia Adams - that oozes sensuality ... and danger. Her screen future looked awfully promising. But for whatever reason Brooks only made three minor appearances over the next five years, then called it quits. She eventually became an accomplished photographer. And seven years after Gibbons' death married a prominent Beverly Hills surgeon, remaining active on the social and charity scenes. Hazel Brooks died at 78 in 2002. But as long as "Body and Soul" and "Sleep My Love" are available for viewing, the lady's going to keep right on mesmerizing.

Honestly, I have been obsessing for about 4 months, but hadn't posted, except the question of how many titles were remaining in the Paramount deal. One title that i was wondering it was going the Paramount Presents route, or if Kino had it... The Country Girl, I was beginning to wonder if Grace Kelly's and Bing Crosby's performances was going to be limited to the old full frame DVD released in 2004. 20 years later, looks like it will get the release, We have been waiting on. The two Lancaster/Mann films are the icing on the cake of this announcement. 2 days 4 great releases.

I hope these are three individual releases and not a box set as I'm only interested in two titles. Possbily all three depending on the "extras".
We'll know in a couple of weeks when more details are revealed.

This makes me so happy. The picture quality will be MUCH better than the via vision releases. Although the bonus features won’t be as good, I’d imagine, so I’ll keep those other discs for those. (I really liked the bio on Grace Kelly.)
I HATE “ROSE TATTOO”, but I’ll be getting it again to support KINO, as well as COUNTRY GIRL. I’d be getting these anyway, but better picture/audio will be greatly welcomed. I did a review of COUNTRY GIRL in the via vision thread and I belive that that transfer needed much clean up.
I don’t have SHEBA, so that’s a first for me.
I hope more of this genre (Acting/best picture nominees) are coming, especially some of the titles I picked up from VIA VISION.
